About Dr. Marinovic

My Story
2_edited.jpg

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with an extensive experience working with a range of mental health issues including addiction, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, women’s and men’s issues, stage of life transitions, young adult/college issues, relationship issues, and adjustment disorders. Although I tend to incorporate interpersonal, CBT and DBT psychotherapy models, most importantly I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my client's individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for.  In addition to work as a clinical director of a psychiatric facility specializing in addiction here on the Central Coast, I worked as a staff psychologist for the Department of Defense, as well as UCSD Eating Disorder Treatment Center,  and the University of San Diego Counseling Center where I did my pre-doctoral APA internship.

My Philosophy

I have a deep curiosity, appreciation and respect for each person's individuality. I am an active listener who provides open and honest feedback in a compassionate and respectful manner. I will work collaboratively with you to set goals and quickly pinpoint the issues that are causing roadblocks in your life. In therapy we will work together to find a balance between focusing on the present concerns, as well as the possible contributing factors from the past so that you can feel empowered to confront the current problems you may be facing. I am warm, caring, non-judgmental, and able to provide you a safe space for you to address the many stressors that we face in today's world. My clinical experience and trainings have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to help you navigate this difficult time in your life and to work towards achieving the life that you imagined for yourself. My approach includes cognitive behavior therapy, family systems, dialectical behavior therapy, and positive psychology treatment methods.
